SumatraPDF is een multi-format reader voor Windows. In 3.6.1 en eerder versmalt ChmFile::GetCharZ() bestandsgestuurde niet-ondertekende tekenreeksen van /#WINDOWS en /#IVB tot ondertekende gehele getallen zonder een controle aan de ondergrens. Een offset die negatief wordt, kan de functie vóór de buffer/#STRINGS laten lezen, waardoor de toepassing deterministisch wordt beëindigd. Er wordt geen bredere impact geclaimd dan de door advies ondersteunde voorwaarden. Er is geen vaste versie beschikbaar vanaf deze beoordeling.

In 3.6.1 and earlier, ChmFile::GetCharZ() narrows file-controlled unsigned string offsets from /#WINDOWS and /#IVB to signed integers without a lower-bound check. An offset that becomes negative can make the function read before the /#STRINGS buffer, causing deterministic application termination. No broader impact is claimed beyond the advisory-supported conditions. No fixed version is available as of this review.
