Een toewijzing van middelen zonder limieten of beperking van de kwetsbaarheid in het l2cpd-proces van Juniper Networks Junos OS stelt een aangrenzende niet-geverifieerde aanvaller in staat om een denial of service te veroorzaken en l2cpd opnieuw op te starten via FNP-enabled Layer 2-interfaces. Het probleem wordt geactiveerd wanneer de FNP-functie is ingeschakeld op een VPLS-routeringsinstantie met VLAN-VPLS-inkapseling ingeschakeld.
Dit probleem is van invloed op alle platforms, behalve de PTX-serie en SRX-serie.

An Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in the l2cpd process of Juniper Networks Junos OS allows an adjacent unauthenticated attacker to cause a denial of service and l2cpd restart via FNP-enabled Layer 2 interfaces. The issue is triggered when the FNP feature is enabled on a VPLS routing instance with VLAN-VPLS encapsulation enabled.
This issue affects all platforms except the PTX Series and SRX Series.
