Linux Kernel bevat een onjuist beveiligingslek voor eigendomsbeheer, waarbij ongeautoriseerde toegang tot de uitvoering van het setuid-bestand met mogelijkheden werd gevonden in het OverlayFS-subsysteem van de Linux-kernel in hoe een gebruiker een capabel bestand kopieert van een nosuid-mount naar een andere mount. Met deze uid-toewijzingsfout kan een lokale gebruiker zijn rechten op het systeem escaleren. Vereiste actie: pas mitigaties toe volgens de instructies van de leverancier, volg de toepasselijke BOD 22-01-richtlijnen voor cloudservices of stop het gebruik van het product als er geen mitigaties beschikbaar zijn.

Linux Kernel contains an improper ownership management vulnerability, where unauthorized access to the execution of the setuid file with capabilities was found in the Linux kernel’s OverlayFS subsystem in how a user copies a capable file from a nosuid mount into another mount. This uid mapping bug allows a local user to escalate their privileges on the system.
Required action: Apply mitigations per vendor instructions, follow applicable BOD 22-01 guidance for cloud services, or discontinue use of the product if mitigations are unavailable.
