De (1) cf2_initLocalRegionBuffer en (2) cf2_initGlobalRegionBuffer-functies in cff/cf2ft.c in FreeType vóór 2.5.3 controleren niet goed of er een subroutine bestaat, waardoor externe aanvallers een denial of service (beweringsfout) kunnen veroorzaken, zoals aangetoond door een vervaardigd ttf-bestand.
