De Application Layer Gateway (alg) -module in Cisco IOS 12.2 tot en met 12.4 en 15.0 tot en met 15.4, wanneer nat wordt gebruikt, stelt externe aanvallers in staat om een denial of service (herladen van apparaten) te veroorzaken via vervaardigde DNS-pakketten, ook bekend als Bug ID CSCue00996.
