De bbcode-plug-in in TinyMCE 3.5.8 dwingt het TinyMCE-beveiligingsbeleid niet goed af voor de (1) coderingsrichtlijn en (2) valid_elements-attribuut, waarmee aanvallers cross-site scripting (XSS) -aanvallen kunnen uitvoeren via applicatiespecifieke vectoren, zoals aangetoond met behulp van een tekstveldelement.
