IIS 4.0 en 5.0 stellen externe aanvallers in staat om documenten buiten de webroot te lezen en mogelijk willekeurige opdrachten uit te voeren via onjuist geformuleerde URL's die UNICODE-gecodeerde tekens bevatten, ook wel bekend als de "Web Server Folder Traversal"-kwetsbaarheid.
