Met de Web IDL-implementatie in Mozilla Firefox vóór 28.0, Firefox ESR 24.x vóór 24.4, Thunderbird vóór 24.4 en SeaMonkey vóór 2.25 kunnen externe aanvallers willekeurige JavaScript-code uitvoeren met chrome-bevoegdheden door een IDL-fragment te gebruiken om een window.open-aanroep te activeren.
